
POLICE have made one arrest during their investigations into a spate of vehicle theft across Newcastle and the Hunter.
On Sunday a Toyota Landcruiser was stolen from Shortland Esplanade, Newcastle East.
Police commenced an investigation and a 44-year-old man was identified as a person of interest.
About 1.45pm Monday officers located the man on King Street, Newcastle West where he was arrested without incident and taken to Newcastle police station.

The man was on parole until May 2021 and had been disqualified from driving until 2024.
He was charged with three offences including take and drive conveyance without consent, larceny and drive whilst disqualified. He was bail refused by police to appear at Newcastle Local Court on Tuesday.
