Attempted murder charges have been filed after four men arguing over a woman got into a shootout days before Christmas outside a hookah shop in northwest Indiana.
About 10:30 p.m. Dec. 23, the men pulled into the parking lot of the Munster Tobacco and Hookah, at 7950 Calumet Ave., and began vandalizing the area and firing gunshots, Munster police said in a statement.
The men allegedly intended to confront the store’s owner over “what had been said about” a woman, police said in a statement.
A relative of the owner then showed up and fired shots at the suspects, police said.
When they ran back to the vehicle, one of them “charged” at the relative and fired multiple shots in his direction, police said.
No one was hurt in the shooting, police said. Two vehicles were damaged, along with the building.
Police said four people were charged with attempted murder, attempted battery and criminal recklessness: Frank Sabbah, 68, of Munster; Munadel Jebreen, 39, of Lansing; Abdal Hassouna, 30, of Oak Lawn; and Rami Jabarin, 37 of Burbank.
No one is in custody.
