Disneyland resort reopens with baffling new rule that visitors can't scream on rides

A Disneyland resort has re-opened with a baffling new rule visitors might find hard to stick to.

Disneyland in Tokyo is welcoming guests for the first time in four months after it closed to stop the spread of coronavirus.

Now thrill-seekers can once again enjoy the park's attractions under strict social distancing measures.

However, many people were said to be left baffled after management told visitors that screaming loudly on rides will not be permitted.

Other rules in place include keeping hands clean and using cashless payments.

The park will also operate at 50% capacity until further notice, with all parades and shows still suspended.

The Tokyo park reopened after Japan lifted its national state of emergency in late May.

Disneyland Paris announced it would be reopening on July 15.

Guests over the age of 11 years old will be asked to wear masks, along with staff.

In order to comply with social distancing rules, capacity will initially be limited and people will be able to reserve tickets online as no tickets will be available on site.

Character meet and greets will be temporarily suspended and some shows may not be available or be modified.

But entertainers will be available at the park for photo opportunities.

And guests won't be able to use Fast Passes to skip the queues, for now.

New hygiene measures include more than 2,000 sanitising and hand washing stations throughout the resort.

In the UK, theme parks will reopening from tomorrow.

Alton Towers announced its new social distancing measures for visitors this week.

Like zoos, anyone wanting to visit Alton Towers will have to pre-book for entry, with the park opening at limited capacity.

Queues will be spaced out to ensure people are social distancing, and face masks will be compulsory for anyone over the age of six on certain rides, including Nemesis, Galactica, Oblivion, The Smiler, Wicker Man, Rita, TH13TEEN and Runaway Mine Train.

At the park entrance, temperature checks will be carried out with a non-touch thermometer. Anyone with a temperature over 37.8 degrees will be denied entry.

The majority of rides and outdoor attractions will reopen, but some indoor facilities will stay shut, BirminghamLive reports.

Staff will also wear PPE and rides will be thoroughly cleaned regularly.
