Disneyland Paris worker tests positive for deadly coronavirus

A Disneyland Paris worker has tested positive for the deadly coronavirus - as global cases exceed 100,000.

But the theme park remains open, as bosses say the maintenance worker has not been in contact with any visitors.

The member of staff tested positive for the deadly COVID-19 strain over the weekend, and Disneyland Paris bosses are now checking on staff who have been in contact with the worker.

It is not yet clear how the member of staff contracted the deadly COVID-19 strain, or if anyone else has been affected.

The number of coronavirus cases in Scotland has now reached 18 , after someone from the University of the West of Scotland’s Lanarkshire campus tested positive for coronavirus.

It is understood the patient – from the base at Hamilton International Technology Park – was confirmed as having the COVID-19 strain at the weekend, and is now receiving treatment in hospital.

The university will remain open, and the local NHS health board have advised everyone to wash their hands regularly with soap and water, or use a sanitiser gel, regularly throughout the day, while avoiding touching their mouth or eyes.

The total for the UK as a whole has jumped to 273, with three people in England dying after contracting the virus.
