Disneyland Paris spot for talented young dancers from Perth

A group of talented young dancers are getting ready to head off for a trip of a lifetime this weekend.

Dancers from Inspire Dance Studios in Perth are flying out to France tomorrow to dance at Disneyland Paris.

The group, which ranges in age from seven to 16, had to go through a rigorous audition to make it to the theme park.

Mum Lynn Mackenzie said everyone is very excited about getting to dance at Disney as part of the Disney Performing Arts On Stage programme.

She said: “We are really looking forward to it, especially because we are at the packing stage now.

“They dance on Monday, and for the rest of the time we have tickets to spend time in the theme park.

“It is all our own choreography as well.”

Lynn’s daughter Ailsa (12), who has just left Oakbank Primary School and will be starting at Perth High School later this month, is one of the dancers going on the epic trip.

She continued: “Ailsa is very excited about it, and I am looking forward to it as well.

“The teachers wanted to do something for the kids and give them something to look forward to as well.

“Everyone is really excited.”

The group of 20 have been sponsored by Derek Petterson and Kirsty Robertson from Forty-Four Bar and Lounge in Perth as well.

Inspire Dance Studios is holding an open day on Sunday, August 18.
