Theme park: Disneyland Paris has launched its biggest ever UK recruitment drive, according to HR Magazine. The company, which is looking to fill 6,000 jobs for 2011, held recruitment days in London earlier this week and is recruiting in Cardiff's City Hall today. There are more than 500 vocations offered at Disneyland Paris, with benefits including reduced rent within staff accommodation.
Nursing and care: 70 jobs are to be created when a new care home opens in Burnley, according to the Lancashire Telegraph. Heather Grange, which is run by Silk Healthcare, will open in December and offer permanent and respite care. Vacancies currently advertised on the company's website include roles for care assistants, senior carers and nurses.
Call centre: Dozens of jobs will be created at a call centre in Tees Valley, north-east England. Enable Media, which employs 35 staff, is to take on 100 workers after landing new contracts with a range of companies. Call centre director Dan Lawson told The Northern Echo that the new staff would be taken on very soon.
Finance: Tesco Bank has announced it is to create 200 new jobs at a call centre in Glasgow. The new staff will be employed by Vertex, a customer management outsourcing group, which has a five year contract with the bank. The customer service posts will provide sales and service support for the supermarket's new mortgage business which it plans to launch next summer, according to the BBC.
Belfast screen workshop: Aspiring screen writers and filmmakers are invited to a free workshop looking at how beginners can break into the screen industry. There will be a panel discussion with film and literary experts discussing key questions affecting those trying to find a first role.
