Disney star Devan Leos pleads no contest to attempted murder for mowing down stranger with car

Former Disney child star Devan Leos has pleaded no contest to attempted murder after mowing down a stranger with his car.

The actor, 21, best known for TV show Mighty Med, avoided a lengthy jail sentence by striking a plea deal with prosecutors.

He was sentenced to five years probation, 120 hours of volunteer work at a homeless shelter and 30 days working at the California Department of Transportation, according to TMZ.com .

Another charge of assault with a deadly weapon was dropped.

The case stems from a shocking incident back in December, 2018, at a 7-Eleven convenience store in Los Angeles.

The former child star is said to have entered the shop with a friend, where they became involved in an argument with another customer.

After getting into their car, the row continued with the unnamed victim kicking the vehicle as they were pulling away.

Leos, who was driving, is then alleged to have driven towards the person and accelerated several times before mounting the pavement and mowing them down.
