Say hello to your new Flounder and Scuttle!
Fresh off the news that Bridemaids star Melissa McCarthy is in talks for the role of sea witch Ursula in the live-action Disney remake of classic 1989 animated film The Little Mermaid, we now have two new likely cast members.
According to Deadline, Ocean's Eight star Awkwafina is being considered to voice a gender-swapped version of the seagull Skuttle.
Meanwhile, Room actor Jacob Tremblay looks set to voice Ariel's tropical fish friend Flounder in the upcoming Disney film.
The choices come after producers were revealed to want to cast actors who are "contemporary and compelling".
The Little Mermaid will be directed by Mary Poppins Returns and Chicago director Rob Marshall, with composer Alan Menken back for new music alongside the classic tunes.
Mary Poppins Returns star and Broadway sensation Lin-Manuel Miranda will also be writing lyrics for the original songs in the film.
Awkwafina can soon be seen in the sequel film Jumanji: The Next Level, while Tremblay has a role in Doctor Sleep, the much-anticipated sequel to The Shining.
The next Disney remake of one of their animated classics is The Lion King, which is due in cinemas later this month.
The new version from The Jungle Book director Jon Favreau will star Donald Glover, Seth Rogen, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Billy Eichner, Beyonce Knowles Carter, and the returning James Earl Jones.
The Little Mermaid does not currently have a release date.
