Disney's Bedknobs and Broomsticks comes to Manchester's Palace Theatre as part of world stage premiere tour

Disney’s Bedknobs and Broomsticks is coming to Manchester next month.

The Academy Award-winning movie is making its world premiere as an exciting new stage musical and will visit the Palace Theatre from October 19 to 24.

Families are invited to 'enter a world of magic and fantasy' - following the story of the three orphaned Rawlins children who are reluctantly evacuated from wartime London to live with the mysterious Miss Eglantine Price.

Upon discovering she's a trainee witch, they join forces to search for a secret spell that will defeat the enemy once and for all.

It follows the story of the three orphaned Rawlins children (Palace Theatre)

Armed with an enchanted bedknob, a bewitched broomstick and a magical flying bed, they encounter surprising new friendships on their journey from Portobello Road to the depths of the beautiful briny sea.

With original songs by the legendary Sherman Brothers (Mary Poppins, The Jungle Book, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang), including Portobello Road, The Age Of Not Believing, The Beautiful Briny and new music and lyrics by Neil Bartram and book by Brian Hill, Bedknobs and Broomsticks is being brought to life by award-winning theatre-makers Candice Edmunds and Jamie Harrison.

It's making its world premiere as a new stage musical (Palace Theatre)

Dianne Pilkington, whose West End credits include Les Miserables, Wicked, Mamma Mia! and Mel Brooks’ Young Frankenstein, will star as Miss Price and Charles Brunton, who starred in the iconic role of Miss Trunchbull in Matilda both in the West End and on Broadway, will play Emelius Browne.
