However, we have also received details on the fourth Star Wars trilogy that is due to come - likely from Game of Thrones creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss.
The Star Wars films will be released towards Christmas time every two years, but they will be buffered in the interceding years by another big franchise.
The current highest-grossing movie of all-time, Avatar by James Cameron, is due to bring its four sequels to the big screen over the similar periods.
The series was owned by Fox but is now a Disney property following its acquisition of the studio.
So, essentially, Disney will own Christmas until 2027.
