Disney Plus is celebrating Star Wars Day with two premieres

May the Fourth marks the annual Star Wars Day which sees fans across the world celebrate the iconic series.

This year will see the new streaming platform Disney+ get involved by releasing brand-new original content for fans to watch.

This includes the highly anticipated conclusion of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, the award-winning animated series which leads up to the events of Revenge of the Sith.

Since it's debut in 2008 the show has produced seven seasons, became a ratings success and won a number of Emmy Awards.

Also joining the streaming platform on May 4, is Disney Gallery: The Mandalorian. The eight-part documentary will go behind the scenes of the show exploring the first live-action Star Wars television series.

Fans can see interviews, never-before-seen-footage and roundtable conversations hosted by producer Jon Favreau. Topics include the filmmaking process, the legacy of George Lucas' Star Wars, the series’ groundbreaking technology and the artistry behind the show’s practical models, effects, and creatures.

The Disney Gallery: The Mandalorian will debut three days after the original series wraps up in the UK, with a new episode available every Friday for eight weeks.

The shows will join the already comprehensive collection of Star Wars movies and shows including Rogue One, The Last Jedi and the original film A New Hope.

To watch them go to www.disneyplus.com. If you're not signed up yet you can access a seven-day free trial and then pay £5.99 per month or £59.99 per year.
