Disney introduces new Minnie Mouse ears design - but fans point out it looks very rude

Disney fans have been left blushing after an unfortunate merchandise re-brand.

The family-friendly company are charging £175 for their Mickey and Minnie Mouse Disney 100 Platinum Celebration Ear Hat for Adults.

But it's not the price of the iconic characters' new look that has caused a stir.

The latest caps appear to be covered in a strange substance they claim is platinum - and it certainly got social media talking.

Disney Parcs' announcement wording also left many, well, lost for words. It read: "Minnie is dripping with excitement as she celebrates the centenary of the Walt Disney Company in her typically fashionable style with this ear headband.

"Part of the Disney 100 Platinum Celebration, this limited release commemorative ear headband has been designed by Disney artists for a special reflective platinum-dipped effect and includes a coordinating padded bow, all presented in a special keepsake box."

Predictably, Twitter users jumped on it rather quickly.

After uploading a grab of the release, one wrote: "Minnie is WHAT!"

One user replied: "The people that got this past approval must have laughed themselves into a coma by now."

A third said: "I feel like some completely evil and unhinged Disney designer just won a bet," before another chimed in: "They know exactly what they're doing."

Mirror Online has approached the Walt Disney Company for comment.

Last year, Disney fans demanded sexually suggestive t-shirts be banned from the theme parks after a racy couple caused a storm on twitter.

Some people were spotted wearing the raunchy tops in America - and angry parents now want anyone wearing them to be refused access.

A man and a woman wearing the matching shirts were seen at Disney World in Florida last summer.

The unofficial tees - which can be bought on Amazon - sees the famous Disney “D” calligraphy used in an explicit way. The woman's shirt simply read: 'I wanted the D' - while the man's said: 'I gave her the D'.

It's not the first time people have been seen sporting inappropriate clothing - and social media was awash with more complaints.

On the Disney World website, the company state: “We reserve the right to deny admission to or remove any person wearing attire that we consider inappropriate or attire that could detract from the experience of other guests."
