Greystones has turned into a fairytale as Patrick Dempsey and Amy Adams begin filming on Disney's Disenchanted today.
The two-day shoot for the highly-anticipated film and sequel to 2007's Enchanted started on Tuesday morning in the Burnaby area.
Horses, carriages and donkeys turned up to the scene of the flower-covered cottage along with cast and crew.
Erskine Avenue is said to be in high spirits with excitement with horses having taken over Portland Road.
Make-up artist Beth Teehan posted a video of the magical looking set in Greystones on Tiktok on Monday with the caption 'Disenchanted Castle'.
The video has been viewed nearly 10k times on Tiktok alone and has been shared across different media platforms since.
Beth told Dublin Live: “There is for sure a massive hype around Greystones at the moment, especially where I live.
“Amy Adams showed up today and gave a wave out the window. I can’t even explain it, it’s mad.
“There’s people going around dressed in crazy outfits, it’s an everyday occurrence and there's horses and carriages, they’re really magnificent, it’s a fairy-tale.
Another Wicklow woman, Lisa Hempenstall said: “It’s something different, away from COVID. There’s some excitement in the area.
“It looks like such a scene out of Disney, they reconstructed the house. It’s in the Burnaby in Greystones, and they’ve transformed it completely.
“They’re actually filming today, it’s cornered off completely. There’s horses and carts, old cars, lots of extras started to arrive.”
The first film of the franchise Enchanted was released back in 2007, and was nominated for three Oscars.
The storyline is centred on the tale of Princess Giselle who was banished from her magical animated land to the gritty streets of Manhattan, New York.
Amy Adams is set to return to the role of Giselle, the American actress and film producer is known for both comedic and dramatic roles and has appeared three times in annual rankings of the world's highest-paid actresses.
Patrick Dempsey from Grey's Anatomy will star alongside Adams once again as Robert Philip, a cynical Manhattan divorce attorney who did not believe in true love until he met the Princess.
The village is being transformed for filming, which is taking place until August in various locations including Dundalk, Dublin city, and the RDS.
A town hall is also being constructed in Enniskerry for the film.
