Disney Cruise Line cancels remaining European sailings for Disney Magic

ORLANDO, Fla. _ Disney Cruise Line has canceled the remaining of its planned European sailings on Disney Magic because of coronavirus.

The cruise line updated its plans on its website this week that showed all of the Disney Magic sailings that the line had hoped could still take place are now off the board.

That means the next bookable voyage on the fleet's oldest ship is Oct. 12 from New York. Disney Wonder's summer plans had already been canceled through Sept. 14 because of the Canadian government's decision to close its ports to cruise ships through the end of October.

The cruise line's two other ships, Disney Fantasy and Disney Dream based in Port Canaveral, have sailings canceled through the end of July.

The line continues to offer refunds or the option to rebook a future cruise with a cruise credit for affected sailings.

All cruise lines are under voluntary suspension of service since mid-March when coronavirus became a global pandemic. A Centers for Disease Control and Prevention "no sail" order has been in place and lasts until late July that would not allow ships to sail from U.S. ports.

Several cruise lines have announced plans to return to service, but have yet to roll out specifics about how a return to sailing would look, such as capacity limits on ships.

Any plan would have to be approved by the CDC before ships would begin sailing from U.S. ports.
