NAGPUR: Senior batter among women's - Disha Kasat - has been named Vidarbha's skipper for the forthcoming senior women's T20 League.
The middle-order bat, Kasat, who has been Vidarbha's top run-getter since the last couple of seasons, will lead the 15-member squad in the tourney which will be played at Vizag from October 11 to 22.
In 2019, Disha hit the headlines when she became the first Vidarbha woman to score a century in the senior women's T20s. She had hammered unbeaten 113 against Arunachal Pradesh at her own backyard - VCA Civil Lines ground. During her first three-figure knock in T20s, she had even weaved a 129-run partnership with Kanchan Nagwani. This was the first century stand for Vidarbha in T20s.
Later that season, she was touted to play in the IPL Women's T20 challenge. However, the outbreak of Covid and subsequent lockdown had put everything on the backburner.
