This is the disgusting mess caused by vandals at children’s play park just as the school holidays got underway.
Paint was thrown all over the play area in Llwynypia,near Tonypandy in Rhondda Cynon Taf, which only opened less than 12 months ago.
Locals have described the vandalism as "totally disgraceful"
Llwynypia Park is a regular favourite among parents and children and has been a staple in the area since it opened last year.
There have been issues with large gangs of youth surrounding the park - something that parents of young children say makes them feel uncomfortable.
Lou Morris, who lives nearby, said: “I attempted to go to the Llwynypia Park two weeks ago and felt uncomfortable with the gangs of youth around. I travel to Cardiff or Pontypridd Park now. The small local parks have been ruined by gangs hanging around.”
Last year the park had problems when someone dumped a washing machine there.
Residents are frustrated as the council have tried hard to provide facilities for the area.
Chris Bryant, MP for Rhondda, uploaded the pictures of the damage to his Facebook page on July 19.
One parent commented: “Something has to be done to curb all this vandalism and also the amount of litter just thrown anywhere. More policing needs and litter wardens with instant fines for people dropping litter. We have a beautiful valley, let's keep it that way.”
Another added: "If your kid comes home covered in paint, then do yourselves a favour and hand the 'little cherub' over to the council to help them clean up and teach them a lesson."
Council officials managed to clean up the mess and the park has re-opened.
Police said they are investigating the incident and anyone with any information should call 101.
