'Disgusted' diners fume over 'UK's worst' McDonald's - with false nail found in chips

Several diners at a UK branch of McDonald's have been left "disgusted" at the customer service and quality of food served at the restaurant, with some vowing never to return.

The angry customers have taken to TripAdvisor to slam the McDonald's in Kingswinford, near Dudley, with 78 of the 127 reviews awarding just one star out of five.

The branch - which some customers have branded the "worst" McDonald's they have ever been to - has an overall rating of just two stars and, among the disgruntled comments, people have complained about "terrible" food and "non-existent" customer service.

One horrified customer even claimed to have found a false nail in their chips, and was left in further outrage when staff allegedly told them it was their own fault.

The review read: "After finding a false nail in our chips we took our meal back for a refund and were offered a £10 voucher.

"However they proceeded to insinuate that the nail was ours by saying only male staff worked on the fries station, however, the bag was brought out by a female to us in our car with the chips being on the top of the order.

"We are an all-male household so the nail is definitely NOT ours."

Another customer was left "disgusted" by the food they ordered to be delivered after it arrived "stone cold", and when they called to complain, they were told it was the fault of the delivery company.

They wrote: "What a disgusting meal we have just had delivered!! Two items missing and the items that were there were stone cold. Rang them and was told to contact Just Eat, not here!! Never ever will we use this branch again."

Many were also outraged by the branch's customer service, with one person saying that staff "threw the missed order at me, threw the change and forgot the drink" when they visited with their daughter.

While another said staff "sneered and laughed" at them and their three kids after management allegedly refused to take an "old" £5 note as legal tender despite giving the customer the note as change.

However, not all the reviews about the branch are negative, as one person took to TripAdvisor to praise the restaurant - saying their food was delicious and fresh.

"They get a rough deal at this Maccies," the customer stated, "but they can't be that bad as there's always a queue getting in the drive-thru ... on this occasion, 10/10.

"Went on the off chance last night. The staff serving were so friendly and happy. The chap taking the order was singing it through and everyone in the queue was laughing.

"Had a hot chocolate which I'm rather fussy with [and] wow, [it] was lovely. Chips nice and hot and [the] Big Tasty [with] no bacon was great."

Speaking to the Daily Star, a McDonald's spokesperson said: "We are proud to serve around four million customers a day in over 1,450 restaurants across the UK & Ireland. Our restaurant teams work hard to ensure every customer who orders a McDonald's has a positive experience, and we’re disappointed to hear of any instances that fall short of our high standards.

"We'd encourage any customer with a complaint to either speak to a member of the crew in the restaurant or get in touch with our customer services team."
