Disgusted Coronation Street fans left sickened after spotting birthday party gaffe

Coronation Street viewers were left feeling disgusted and sick to their stomachs after noticing a grim detail from last night's birthday party.

Friday night's episode of Coronation Street saw supposed to be a happy tine as residents of the cobbles all got together to celebrated Oliver Platt's birthday.

However, fans were left horrified by one rather revolting detail about the birthday party.

Many Corrie viewers took to Twitter to voice their disgust as they noticed Oliver - who was ill in the episode - had been coughing all over his birthday cake.

The party was just getting going and Oliver ended up falling asleep.

When he finally woke up from his slumber, his parents, Sten and Leanne, held out what was meant to be an Incredible Hulk cake for him.

However, Steve had messed up the cake and sent the bakers the wrong picture to put on it.

"I kinda sent the cake people the wrong picture," he said in the episode.

Rather than a picture of The Incredible Hulk in the middle of the cake, there was an image of Steve and a mate at the pub.

But Oliver didn't seem to mind, and he went on to blow the candles on the cake out.

Yet, he then started to cough and splutter all over the cake.

Fans then took to Twitter to comment on the incident in the episode and many of them were left feeling physically sick.

Kelsey Moran wrote on Twitter: "Did the kid on #corrie just cough all over the cake?"

Teena Massam said: "Germs all over the cake (sick emoji)."

Lucky Penny added: "Did anyone else think Oliver was about to be sick all over that birthday cake."

Karen M blasted stated: "A child with a cough blowing all over a cake."

Hopefully, Oliver will feel better and didn't give anybody a nasty cold or virus after the whole birthday cake fiasco.

*Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7:30pm and 8:30pm on ITV
