'Disgust' as stolen motorbike left blazing in a graveyard

A stolen motorbike was left on fire in a graveyard after a police chase yesterday.

Police were called to reports of a theft of motorbikes outside McDonalds, on Jennifer Avenue, near Great Homer Street, at around 5pm yesterday.

Local officers teamed up with the police helicopter and roads policing unit to track down the stolen motorbikes.

Two bikes were recovered and returned to their owners however one was found on fire later that evening on Saturday, July 31.

A spokesperson posted on the Liverpool Police Facebook page: "Last night Walton Lane Community Team responded to a theft of motorbike in the Everton area.

"Working with the Police Helicopter and our Roads Policing Unit we recovered two stolen bikes back to their owners and located one burnt out with complete disregard and respect for others.

"This time the offenders managed to evade us but an investigation is underway to bring them to justice.

"The theft took place outside McDonalds, Jennifer Avenue on 31st July at 5pm.

"If you have information please tell us quoting 21000533298 Crimestoppers."

One person replying to the statement called the incident 'disgusting' while another commented: "Despicable!"
