Diners and staff were left disgusted after a man spat in someone's food while walking past an Irish cafe and restaurant.
Gardai are investigating the incident, which was caught on CCTV outside the popular spot in Wexford last Wednesday.
The restaurant, which asked not to be named, said they were disgusted with the random act.
Footage from the incident shows a man walk by an outside dining area before spitting into a plate of food which was being brought to a table.
A shocked waitress noticed the man's actions and immediately brought the food back in to dispose of it.
A garda spokesperson told Dublin Live: "Gardaí are investigating reports of an incident of spitting that is reported to have occurred outside a premises in Wexford on 30/06/2020 at approximately 1:40pm.
"A woman, aged in her 30s, reported to Garda that a man spat at her.
"No arrests have been made at this stage. Investigations are ongoing."
The restaurant owner has thanked the locals for their support since the unsavoury act happened.
