Disgraced Ondrej Kudela awaits Glen Kamara Rangers racism appeal verdict as his lawyer makes Ibrox demand

UEFA will hear Slavia Prague defender Ondrej Kudela's appeal against his 10-game ban for racism next week with the Czech Republic international confident it will be overturned, which would allow him to face Scotland at the Euros.

And his lawyers have called up former Rangers loanee Bongani Zungu - who has now returned to parent club Amiens in France - to give evidence in the appeal.

The disgraced 34-year-old was handed the ban which will currently cause him to miss the European Championships after the explosive Last 16 Europa League clash between Rangers and Slavia Prague at Ibrox, where UEFA ruled he had made a racist remark to Glen Kamara

However, UEFA have informed him their Appeals Committee will now sit next Wednesday and listen to evidence orally now by video conference calls rather than the written statements that were used in the original verdict.

Kudela's defence team have called on Slavia teammates, Senegal striker Abdallah Sima and Ivory Coast winger Simon Deli to give evidence, as well as their club's physio Jana Cerneho, who was treating a player when the insult was delivered.

But they also want Zungu to give verbal evidence too because they claim his original statement contradicts what team-mate Kamara said.

Kudela's lawyer, Rene Cienciala, said: "We suggested hearing several witnesses and experts for the oral hearing next week.

"We welcome the opportunity to discuss the matter in a broader context than the written submissions."

And Kudela added: "We believe that our arguments and evidence will finally be heard."
