Hazem Shammas and Mitchell Butel star in Ayad Aktar’s play, Disgraced, which proves that politics and dinner parties are never a good mix. The Pulitzer Prize award winning drama is directed by Nadia Tass
Set in a New York Upper East Side apartment, lawyer Amir and his artist wife Emily are about to throw a dinner party. Amir is on track to make partner at his law firm, and the couple have invited Amir’s work colleague, Jory and her art–dealer husband Isaac to dinner. With so much in common, conversation flows easily, but it’s not long until talk turns to race, religion and identity, and very quickly, things fall apart.
