Discounted membership of Eastern Perthshire tourism association extended

The chance for tourism and tourism-related businesses to sign up for membership of the Blairgowrie and East Perthshire Tourist Association (BEPTA) at a special discounted rate is being extended until the end of this month.

The tourist association, which is behind the Visit Cateran Country website and social media platforms, is reintroducing membership after a difficult few years for the tourism and hospitality industry, which has been significantly impacted by measures imposed as part of efforts to tackle the global coronavirus pandemic.

However, thanks to a successful application to VisitScotland for over £11,000 in funding, BEPTA has been able to invest in significantly redeveloping its online presence.

A new social media campaign and revamped website feature the many and varied attractions in the Blairgowrie and East Perthshire area, including its accommodation providers, food and drink offering, and activity providers, as well as The Awakening – a unique, one-off installation on the hills of Glenshee.

And the site is easier for tourism-related businesses in the area to sign up to become members of BEPTA and Visit Cateran Country thanks to a new automated system.

Membership is being relaunched with a special early bird discount of 25 per cent for those who sign up before the end of February.

Hotelier Murray Scott, chair of BEPTA, said: “We’ve been delighted with the response to the early bird discount in January and decided to extend the offer to encourage more tourism-related businesses to sign up as members of BEPTA. Being a member of BEPTA brings a number of fantastic benefits.

“You can increase the visibility of your business through a recommended member’s listing on the Visit Cateran Country website and through inclusion on our social media platforms, and you can include your news, special offers or events on the website, social media platforms and in our new Visit Cateran Country customer-facing quarterly newsletter.

“Members also receive a monthly newsletter with lots of industry-relevant information, local, regional and national news, funding opportunities, training and networking opportunities and can attend our quarterly board meetings which feature guest speakers and networking opportunities.

“And BEPTA members can use brand new Visit Cateran Country logo on their own digital space.”

Standard membership costs £75 for the year for anyone who signs up before February 28. Thereafter it costs £100.

Associate membership costing £35 is also available for local businesses that may not be directly involved with tourism but would still like to support BEPTA.
