West Lothian town set for new B&M discount retail store

Discount retailer B&M are bringing a new store to West Lothian.

Edinburgh Live can exclusively reveal that the new store is opening in Broxburn and B&M is currently busy preparing for the opening.

B&M are advertising online for a variety of permanent positions, including managers and supervisors.

They say: “This is a brand new store and we are looking for customer service, shop floor and replenishment supervisors to join the team on a permanent basis to drive service, standards and sales.

"We have part-time and full-time options but all roles require the flexibility to work shifts during the day, evening and weekend.”

The exact site remains unconfirmed but it is listed on the job applications as Greendykes Rd in Broxburn, nearby to the old Lidl building in the area.

Earlier this year both Lidl and Home Bargains opened new stores at a new retail complex on East Main Street in Broxburn.

The former Lidl building on Greendykes Road is currently listed by chartered surveyors EYCO with a rateable value of £199,500.

B&M said this year that they recorded a huge upturn in sales during the Covid-19 pandemic, with people turning to their home essential stores during lockdown, and announced they would be opening 45 new stores in the UK.

The discount retailer operate from over 680 high street and out of town stores across the UK, with a team of over 35,000 staff.
