Disaster alert for stricken oil tanker in East China Sea

Disaster alert for stricken oil tanker in East China Sea

The Iranian oil tanker that caught fire after colliding with a Hong Kong cargo ship on Saturday in the East China Sea, could burn for as long as one month. That warning of a potential environmental disaster has come for South Korea’s Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries.

South Korea is one of several nations that have sent rescue teams to help put out the fire.

The tanker, Sanchi, is carrying 136,000 tonnes of light crude oil.

Al Jazeera's Adrian Brown reports from Eastern China.
