If like us, you’re always looking for a new summer tipple or flavour sensation to try then look no further than Disaronno.
They’ve just launched a new drink we’re desperate to get our hands on and it’s the first in more than 500 years - and sounds delicious too.
The Disaronno Velvet is a new cream amaretto drink that’s been said to rival Bailey’s thanks to its "incredibly smooth" texture and flavour notes that will make your mouth-water in delight.
Nothing's changed with the physical appearance of that unforgettable and iconic rectangular bottle, square cap and all - the only thing that's changed with this new flavour is the bottle is now solid white in colour. So even if you’re not a huge fan of the taste, it will look pretty appealing on your drinks cabinet to visitors post-lockdown.
With most major retailers set to have this in store from the end of May, Disaronno lovers can get their hands on it now from Amazon, where it’s priced at £18.99 plus £4.99 for delivery.
Disaronno Velvet Cream has a rich, creamy colour and the liqueur promises the taste of apricot, almond, vanilla - wow, sounds dreamy.
It can be served either as part of a creamy cocktail or on the rocks for what Disaronno describe as a "true tasting experience that enhances its unique and fresh taste."
When Disaronno released the new product on their Instagram, it was of course met with pure excitement - with fans of the original drink excited to try it.
“Ooooh this has my name on it” - ours too.
One user of the social media site even suggested the new alcohol being perfect for “our post lockdown party!”. We couldn’t have said it better ourselves.
Disaronno Velvet is 17% ABV, making it slightly lower than the original but we still think you should drink responsibly, even in lockdown.
And it sounds like this might not be the only launch from Disaronno. Neil Jardine, Managing Director of Disaronno International UK, said: "The unique tasting experience enjoyed over ice means consumers across the UK can enjoy a completely new product, still with the distinctive taste of Disaronno which is loved around the world, even during this enforced period at home.”
"The launch is incredibly exciting for us and we have big ambitions for the brand in the UK and entering a new category with the launch of Velvet is only the start.”
Fingers crossed we don’t have to wait another 500 years, ey?
