'We will be better' - Sabri Lamouchi calls for big Nottingham Forest improvements

Sabri Lamouchi admits Sheffield Wednesday's late, late equaliser on Saturday afternoon against Nottingham Forest left him feeling disappointed.

Forest looked to be heading for three points in their first game since March after Joe Lolley's fine second half goal, only to see Connor Wickham rise above Tobias Figueiredo and head past Brice Samba two minutes into stoppage time to earn the Owls a 1-1 draw.

“In the first half we missed patience and made some mistakes. But it was much better in the second half," said Lamouchi in his first appearance since penning his new contract on Friday.

“It was a fantastic goal from Lolley and when you look like getting a result until a few minutes from the end of the game, you are disappointed.

“We are disappointed at the end because it is not easy to score first here. It is not easy to keep the result here.

“But after three months, it is logical what happened here. We just need to work for next week and give more importance to the small details.

“But after three or four games, I think we will be much better."

Given the Reds had only been back in training for a couple of weeks before the Championship restarted for the remaining nine games, Lamouchi refused to blame Forest's late concession on a lack of sharpness.

“No, I don’t think so," the Frenchman said.

"When you are a little bit tired and you make some changes, we lost the position in the corner and we could have avoided that corner.

“We made some mistakes before and we gave them some chances. Brice made one lovely stop, and Joe Worrall as well with a block.

“I’m disappointed for the players.

“To run and to fight, like they did today, of course it would be much better with three points, but it is like that."
