Disappearance of Renfrewshire schoolgirl sparks desperate appeal to trace her

Police have issued a public appeal to help them trace a schoolgirl who has been missing since yesterday afternoon.

Hannah Snodgrass was last seen leaving her home in Bridge of Weir around 12:30pm and police and her family are becoming increasingly concerned for her welfare.

The 15-year-old is known to frequent Bridge of Weir, Braehead and the surrounding areas, and also has links to the Patna area of Ayrshire.

Hannah's mum Kirsty took to social media to issue her own appeal stating that her daughter was not in any trouble, and that she just wanted to hear from her.

Kirsty tweeted: "My daughter hasn't returned from school, please retweet and chase any teens hanging around the streets home.

"Johnstone, Bridge Of Weir, Kilbirnie, Lochwinnoch are her usual areas. Police have been contacted. She's not in any trouble, just call me!"

Hannah is described as white, 5ft 4ins tall, of slim build and has long Fair/Blonde hair. She was last seen wearing a black fleece style jacket, white and pink t-shirt, blue leggings and black and white converse trainers.

Anyone who may have seen Hannah since this time, or who has any information which could be relevant, is urged to contact Police Scotland via 101 quoting incident number 3969 of 24th August.
