Disabled Ayrshire man makes heartfelt appeal after callous thieves nick his wheelchair

Heartless thieves nicked a disabled man's wheelchair from outside a house in Stevenston, North Ayrshire.

The incident happened in the town's Hyslop Road on Monday, December 16.

Police say inquiries are continuing into the incident and are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

The stolen wheelchair is electric, black in colour with long foot plates and a distinctive white golf ball gear stick for manouvering.

The victim, who we are choosing not to name, made a heartfelt plea for information on social media.

He said: "It was last seen at 16:00pm to 18:15pm so between this time frame I'm asking people who have CCTV in/around this street/vicinity to please have a look.

"Even if you were driving past and have dashcam footage or even seen something out of ordinary while perhaps walking up/down the road even ask children if they seen anything suspicious."

"This will be my last appeal before I think to say I have no hope."

Anyone with information should contact Irvine Police Station through 101, quoting reference number 3049 of 16th December.
