A sports club has been renamed in honour of an inspirational teacher who died of brain cancer to ensure her legacy lives on.
Ashton Clothier, who was a PE teacher at Blyth Academy, died in September at the age of 29 - less than two months after she was diagnosed with glioblastoma.
Devastated pupils and colleagues paid tribute to an "amazing teacher" who was a "true inspiration" to so many who knew her.

In addition to her teaching duties, Ashton was a dedicated volunteer alongside her partner, Marc Burnip, for the Tuesday Club, a sports club for disabled children run from John Spence Community High School in North Shields.
To remember the tremendous work Ashton did, the club that lied so close to her heart has now been formally renamed 'Ashton's Tuesday Club' at a ceremony on Tuesday.
The emotional event was attended by Newcastle United midfielders Sean and Matty Longstaff - who are both former John Spence pupils.

Marc says the name change would make sure the love of his life's legacy lived on at the club she gave so much of her life to since 2013.
The 42-year-old said: "Changing the name to Ashton's Tuesday Club is very fitting for the help and support she has provided to many children over the years.
"She injected so much life, passion and enthusiasm into the club to help every member who came through the door.
"Ashton always had a smile on her face and we've now got 'keep smiling' as our motto for the club.
"She always saw the fun side of things. The kids absolutely loved her.
"It makes me so proud to name the centre after her.
"To see Sean and Matty come along to help celebrate has really topped things off.
"It's been a very emotional day for everyone. I was a little nervous beforehand but it was great to see everyone together to celebrate what Ashton did and this is the perfect way to remember her."
Marc, who also teaches at the North Tyneside school, had hoped to propose to Ashton before she tragically passed away.
He misses his "beautiful" soulmate every day and is so proud of the work she did that will see her fondly remembered.
"I miss her so much," he said. "I think about her on an hourly basis.

"I know she was my soulmate. She was the love of my life.
"She was also my princess - I loved her with all my heart.
"The last few months have been really difficult but I know she is looking down on me, guiding me through all the tough times.
"She also had a huge impact on me and my two children. She taught me to be the best dad I can be."
Sean and Matty Longstaff told ChronicleLive how much it meant to them to attend the ceremony to help remember a teacher who had a lasting impact on their lives.

Sean said: "Ashton was someone who was really helpful on my journey through school.
"She helped me get to where I am now. It's such an amazing and impactful legacy that she has left and something that can hopefully be kept going for everyone at the Tuesday Club."
Matty added: "I know Ashton from being younger in Year 7. She was a great help with me at school.
"If I can come down and support her it means a lot to me."
Her memory also continues to inspire current club members to try their hardest to earn the 'Ashton's Star' award - a participation award which the recipient can take home for one week alongside a feather they can keep forever.
Adam Pilkington has taken on much of the running of the club while Marc took time to grieve for Ashton, and has helped it go from strength to strength, using lockdown to train up new young leaders to help the now roughly 75 families who attend.
Marc said: "I'd like to thank Adam for taking on my role at the club while I've been off and making it bigger and better.

"Everybody here continues to talk about Ashton with such happiness, and that does help me.
"Everyone she met, whether it was for five minutes or five years, she seemed to have an impact on.
"I'm just so proud of her and I want to keep her legacy going."
