Dirty Jane's owner Jane Crowley says her massive new store in Fyshwick will open as scheduled on Wednesday, even in the face of the coronavirus.

"Now is really the time to support small business," she said.

More than 90 individual small businesses are housed under the one roof in the new Dirty Jane's, behind Domayne in Fyshwick, offering everything from vintage clothing to furniture to ceramics to toys to jewellery and lights.

There is also an onsite cafe.

Each section is rented by an individual trader, some of whom will be on site, some of whom don't need to be, with all purchases made through the one payment area and the funds distributed to the owners.

The new outlet follows the success of the Dirty Jane's store in Bowral.

The Fyshwick Dirty Jane's, through the Domayne carpark off Collie Street, will open at 10am on Wednesday and from then, 10am to 5pm daily.

Everything from greeting cards to furniture.

Mrs Crowley said onsite hygiene measures had been stepped up. Social distancing would continue inside, with a large open area outside for people to relax.

Her father Athol Salter, who used to have an antiques store in Hall, is supporting his daughter.

"Am I proud of her? I brought her up the right way! No, it's just fantastic," he said.

Local Canberrans have also been employed to work in the store, with Mrs Crowley saying they were "so committed and so passionate".
