Dirty Dancing star Jennifer Grey and her Marvel star husband Clark Gregg are to divorce after 19 years of marriage.
The pair have announced that they separated back in January after reaching some difficult decisions about heir marriage.
The couple are parents to 18-year-old actress Stella Gregg.
Taking to both of their Instagram accounts, the pair each posted an identical statement from the both of them alongside a sunny image of the two of them together.
They wrote: "After 19 years together, we separated in January, knowing we’d always be a family who loves, values and cares for each other.
"We recently made the difficult decision to divorce, but we remain close and are deeply grateful for the life we’ve shared and the wonderful daughter we’ve raised. - Jennifer and Clark".
The pair ended the statement with an emotional post-script that highlighted how hard this was for them to do.
"P.S. Totally crying as we post this."
The pair married on July 21, 2001, and resided in a home in Venice, California together.
Jennifer gave birth to daughter Stella on December 3, 2001.
The Dirty Dancing star is best known for playing Baby in the romantic classic, while Clark has become famous worldwide for his role Agent Phil Coulson in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Initially introduced in Iron Man in 2008 opposite Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark, he went on to portray the character in further films before leading the television series Agents of SHIELD as his character.
The popular Marvel series began in 2013 but is due to conclude later this year with its seventh season.
Clark is also known for his roles in Will & Grace and The West Wing.
Meanwhile, Jennifer in recent years has competed in Dancing with the Stars, judged on Strictly Come Dancing, and had a role in Amazon Studios comedy series Red Oaks.
Clark and Jennifer also acted together in the 2006 Lifetime movie Road to Christmas.
Meanwhile, Jennifer has recently been posting about the importance of wearing masks during the coronavirus pandemic.
She wrote on Instagram yesterday: "how bout we show our care for each other’s well-being and safety by wearing a mask when we go out?
"it’s a pretty simple ask, and it is the most effective way for us to save thousands of lives. the lives of our beloved families and community, our country, and humans all over the globe.
"with the holiday weekend coming up, please stay safe, and if we all commit to this simple practice, hopefully the sooner we can all be close and party and dance and celebrate the way we used to. these are hard times... let’s do this."
