Former Liverpool star Dirk Kuyt believes Jurgen Klopp's side must make the most of the 'rare' opportunity to lift a trophy in the middle of the season and go all out to win the Carabao Cup.
The Reds are in action tomorrow evening in their semi-final first leg against Arsenal and will have hopes of reaching Wembley for the showpiece fixture in the competition.
Liverpool have not tasted success in the League Cup for a decade, with the club's previous final win in this tournament arriving in the form of a penalty shootout triumph versus Cardiff City in 2012.

One of the players involved that day for the Reds was Kuyt, who thought he had won the match for the team in the 108th minute - only for Cardiff defender Ben Turner draw level with only two minutes remaining in extra time.
This was the solitary piece of silverware the Dutchman won during his Anfield stay, and the 41-year-old still has fond memories of this day.
"Beating Cardiff City at Wembley is an occasion I'll never forget," he said in his column for liverpoolfc.com
"I brought my family and friends to watch that game – they still talk about that day even now, nearly a decade on. These occasions are the ones you remember when you retire.
"When I arrived at Liverpool in 2006, my first opinion was that the FA Cup was the most important trophy in England, and you saw most managers would give the regulars a rest in the League Cup.
"But when you reach the stage where the Wembley final is in sight, it's something you're desperate for. This is how I imagine Jürgen Klopp's side will be feeling as they prepare to face Arsenal in the semi-finals."
With the Premier League title race now out of Liverpool's hands, the emphasis for Klopp and his players has somewhat shifted to progressing as far as possible in cup competitions.
Having progressed this far in the Carabao Cup, Kuyt is of the view that a Wembley win could breathe new life into the Reds' season.
"The League Cup is a rare competition in a sense because you can lift the trophy partway through a season, rather than at the end. Winning it can give you a big boost of confidence at an important time in the calendar," he said.
"You've been battling for months and months to pick up vital sets of three points, but then comes the chance to add to your medal collection. It's a great opportunity for this Liverpool team, in my opinion."
