Dirk gave Dennis Schroder a signed jersey after the game on Sunday

In what could have been his final time playing at Chesapeake Energy Arena on Sunday, future Hall of Famer Dirk Nowitzki left a fellow countryman a nice parting gift.

Of course, Nowitzki and Dennis Schroder each hail from Germany and were once teammates on the German National Team in 2015. The two have spoken very highly of each other over the years as opponents in the NBA as Nowitzki has become a legend around the world.

On Sunday, the two may have played each other for the final time as many speculate that Nowitzki may decide to retire after the season. The 21-year veteran has not formally announced his retirement but has maintained that he will make a decision after the season ends.

So, after the Dallas Mavericks defeated the Thunder on Sunday, Nowitzki gave Schroder a signed jersey following the victory, according to Nick Crain of Forbes.

Nowitzki earned a standing ovation from Thunder fans prior to the game as he was introduced in the starting lineups. The former MVP has been cheered and applauded in each opposing arena this season since it could be his final season playing.

Gifts have become a big part of some recent retirement tours.

Nowitzki swapped jerseys with Dwyane Wade after the two played each other for the final time and Nowitzki also gave a signed jersey to Sacramento Kings forward Marvin Bagley III.

The 14-time All-Star has certainly had some battles with the Thunder over the years but it was cool to see him receive a standing ovation for his impact on the game.
