Egypt’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Nasser Hamdi stressed that Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s visit to Egypt will tackle a number of files, including counter-terrorism, as well as regional and international issues.
He told Asharq Al-Awsat: “This visit will lead to more joint strategic cooperation.”
Prince Mohammed is scheduled to hold talks with Egyptian President Abdul Fattah al-Sisi on his three-day visit, which he will kick off on Sunday.
“Saudi Arabia and Egypt are among the Arab and regional countries that are most affected by terrorism. The meeting between the Crown Prince and Egypt leadership will offer an opportunity to strengthen coordination to counter terrorism,” stressed Hamdi.
Head of the Saudi Egyptian Business Council, Dr. Abdullah bin Mahfouz, meanwhile told Asharq Al-Awsat that the visit will be the fourth by Prince Mohammed to Egypt in two years.
The trip is important for all Saudi investors, he said.
The Saudi Public Investment Fund will be the main player in the Saudi private sector in the future. It will also play major roles in energy, health and logistic service sectors, he continued.
He highlighted its role in development projects in Sinai, the King Salman land bridge and developing the NEOM region.
Joint cooperation between Saudi and Egyptian companies will benefit both countries, as well as the African market, stressed bin Mahfouz.
