Liverpool forward Diogo Jota has been honoured with a mural on a pub near Anfield.
The “special tribute” to the Portuguese footballer, who died in a road traffic accident alongside his brother Andre Silva earlier this month, depicts Jota in a Liverpool shirt creating a heart with his hands in celebration.
Located on the exterior of the Halfway House pub, about half a mile’s walk from the Reds’ home stadium, the mural by Liverpool-based artist John Culshaw is one of several fan-led homages to the player who spent five years with the Merseyside club after arriving from Wolves in 2020.
Discussing his work, Culshaw said: “As Liverpool fans we know how to deal with tragedy and show our appreciation to someone who has given us so much.
“I picked this image to paint because it shows Diogo sending love out to the fans and by immortalising him in our city, it shows that we are sending the love right back.”

It comes after the club paid tribute to Jota during their first pre-season match, against Preston North End last weekend, and also announced that his No20 top would be retired.
“Diogo has given us so many memories, it’s only right that he will remain our number 20 forever,” added Culshaw in an interview for Liverpool’s official website.
Speaking ahead of that match against Preston, Slot urged his Liverpool players to accept their emotions as they return to the routine of training and playing.
"If we want to laugh, we laugh; if we want to cry, we're going to cry,” the Liverpool boss said.
"If they want to train they can train, if they don't want to train they can not train. But be yourself, don't think you have to be different than your emotions tell you.
"We will always carry him with us in our hearts, in our thoughts, wherever we go."
