Diogo Jota explains new goal celebration during Liverpool's win over Arsenal

Liverpool made it back-to-back wins in the Premier League with victory over Arsenal, with help from Diogo Jota.

The Portuguese international had to settle for a place on the bench for the clash at the Emirates Stadium, but made his opportunity count when it came his way.

After replacing Andy Robertson on the hour mark, Jota took only a few minutes before getting on the scoresheet.

A brilliant cross from Trent Alexander-Arnold resulted in Jota arriving at the back post to nod the ball past Bernd Leno.

Mohamed Salah added a second goal not too long after, before Jota got his second and Liverpool’s third in the latter stages.

Shortly after Jota scored his goal, he could be seen placing both his fists together in his celebration.

In a tweet from his ‘DiogoJota’s Esports' account shortly after the final whistle, a video clip showed Jota explaining earlier this week what he would do if he scored and the meaning behind it.

The celebration was in dedication to follow Esports player @MoveMind, who is a good friend of Jota, and it was also his birthday this week.

“Because it’s his birthday, if I score on Saturday I will do his trademark celebration, like this,” said Jota, as he bumps his fists together, just like he did at the Emirates.
