Liverpool forward Diogo Jota has spoken of his delight at his move to Anfield and revealed how he feels he is in the perfect place to take his career to the next level.
The Portuguese attacker has made a fine start to his Liverpool career, having scored on his Premier League debut against Arsenal last month.
He continued his good form with a superb performance for his country in Wednesday night's 3-0 UEFA Nations League victory over Sweden on Wednesday night, scoring twice including a stunning solo effort and claiming an assist.
The 23-year-old replaced Cristiano Ronaldo, who is recovering from coronavirus, in the national side, and told Portuguese media his career trajectory is at its highest point so far while revealing his next target.
Jota told RTP3 (cited via InsideFutbol ): "It is the highest moment of my career.
"[Moving to Liverpool] was a big step forward, now I started again for the national team.
"And my goal is to assert myself more and more as an option."
Jota will be hoping to figure as the Reds look to bounce back from defeat to Aston Villa before the international break at Goodison Park in the 237th Merseyside derby on Saturday lunchtime.
