Diogo Jota has made a flying start for Liverpool and after another goal in Sunday’s 3-0 win over Leicester City he’s given Jurgen Klopp a real selection poser with Mohamed Salah coming back.
I enjoyed Jota’s header because it was the type of goal that I used to score.
That cross put in from Andy Robertson was the kind that you just can’t defend. You just have to time your header and no goalie is going to save that.
As for the passing beforehand in the build-up, it was just fantastic.
What do you do when Salah comes back in?
It’s going to be tough but it’s a great position for the manager to be in with the four attacking players.
It was great for Roberto Firmino to score at Anfield because it seemed like the world was against him.
Out of what was the established front three, his place had to be the most at risk, you have to say that.
They’ll all be fighting for their place now and it’s a nice headache for the manager to have but now you simply can’t keep Jota out of the team.
He’s had such a big impact, it’s similar to Salah when he first came to the club.
I know from my early days at Newport and Oxford, you’ll go through a brick wall to try and establish yourself and he’s fighting for everything.
He’s hungry, he’s got the desire. Jota knows how good the front three are and he wants to be better than them.
At the moment he’s up there with them and there’s an argument as to just who is Liverpool’s number one striker now.
Jota’s doing things he wasn’t doing before at Wolves. He’s at a bigger club, he’s in the limelight more and his game for Portugal is getting better.
He’s hitting all the right notes.
I thought every single display from a Liverpool player was fantastic, it was the best performance of the season, you can’t praise them enough.
Everyone in that back four was brilliant. James Milner, wow, he can play anywhere James.
He was exceptional. They tried to pinpoint down that side but Vardy and Maddison didn’t get a sniff, they got nothing.

Almost half of the regular first XI weren’t involved against a side who were top of the league but keeping a clean sheet was so fitting for remembering Ray Clemence.
He was absolutely the finest. I’ve sat with him many times and he’d have loved to have seen that game.
It was very sad that the ex-players weren’t able to pay their tributes.
I know that the Kop will have something for Ray when it’s the first game back, absolutely.
