Diogo Jota and Luis Diaz give priceless reactions as Liverpool duo star in hilarious Adidas advert

Liverpool attackers Diogo Jota and Luis Diaz have featured in a hilarious Adidas promo advert for the latest X Speedportal boots.

Both of the Reds suffered with injuries during a difficult campaign at Anfield that saw Jurgen Klopp's side finish outside of the Champions League for just the second time since taking charge in 2015. Jota was stricken with a serious calf injury during the latter stages of their 1-0 win over Manchester City.

The problem kept him out of Fernando Santos' squad for the World Cup in Qatar that saw A Selecao exit in the quarter-finals in their shock defeat to surprise package Morocco. Diaz, too, suffered a setback in the first-half of the season after picking up a knee injury in the first-half of their enthralling clash with Arsenal.

His return was delayed when he was required to go under the knife following a recurrence of the injury during the Reds mid-season trip to Dubai in preparation for the second-half of the campaign.

In an Instagram post from Jota, the pair had fans in stitches in the latest promotional video for the latest boot from the sports manufacturing giant.

The Portugal international can be seen extinguishing Diaz's orange boots. The 26-year-old captioned the post: "WARNING – These boots need a cool down @adidasfootball #xspeedportal #createdwithadidas."

Both attackers managed to regain their fitness in time for the business end of the season as Liverpool looked to salvage credibility for their showing.

With their status in next season's European competitions looking fraught at the turn of the year, they managed to piece together an eight-match winning run, 11 unbeaten in total, to claim a Europa League place. They had Manchester United and Newcastle United worried about their positions in the top four going into the penultimate game of the season but their draw with Aston Villa confirmed respective clubs places in the Champions League.
