Diogo Dalot sends invites to young Manchester United fan struck by coin

Manchester United full-back Diogo Dalot has reached out to a young supporter who was taken to hospital after being struck by a coin thrown into the disabled section during last week's 3-2 win over Arsenal.

Young George Howe, who attended the game with his father, James, had to leave the game at Old Trafford early to seek further medical attention at nearby Stepping Hill hospital in Stockport.

James Howe tweeted about the incident, which is being investigated by both clubs, and Dalot has since replied, inviting the pair to an United game, the next of which is Thursday's home clash against Young Boys.

George, who is autistic, has epilepsy, brain scarring and suffers from seizures, and has attended multiple Premier League games this season along with his father, had swapped seats in an attempt to avoid any injury.

Speaking on their experience, dad James said: ''For the whole of the second half I was getting pelted with coins, then with about 15 minutes to go, one hit George on the top of his head.

"It left a hell of a gash. And with him suffering seizures it's not ideal for him to be hit on the head."

Dalot, who has starred in the side's last two Premier League victories against Arsenal and Crystal Palace, has requested the father and son duo reach out to him, as it is hoped the pair can be back at the Theatre of Dreams to attend a game in the near future.

The Reds face Young Boys at Old Trafford this evening, as new interim boss Ralf Rangnick goes in search of his second win, following Sunday's 1-0 triumph over Crystal Palace.
