Diogo Dalot posts Manchester United injury update

Diogo Dalot is getting closer to making his return from injury for Manchester United after a lengthy spell on the sidelines.

The full-back has only made three appearances in all competitions this season, with a hip injury preventing him from playing at the beginning of the campaign and a groin injury keeping him out since the defeat by Newcastle on October 6.

Dalot, 20, has suggested he could soon return after tweeting a picture of himself in the gym alongside the caption: "Getting closer."

The Portuguese youngster confirmed his injury in the last international break after he had to be substituted during United's 1-0 loss at St. James' Park.

"During the Newcastle game, as you all know I picked up an injury," Dalot tweeted at the time.

"I am now recovering, and already looking forward to joining back up with the team as soon as possible to help the boys get back to where we belong!"

The 20-year-old has struggled with injuries this season and visited a specialist in China in September in an attempt to recover from his setback and he faces a battle to push his way back into the starting XI when he does finally return.

Summer signing Aaron Wan-Bissaka is a regular for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side in the Premier League, having started 10 of United's 12 top-flight games at the beginning of the campaign and only missing two due to a bout of tonsillitis.
