Diogo Dalot offered Man Utd lifeline by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer

Diogo Dalot is still a part of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's plans and the Manchester United boss reportedly has no desire to sell the full-back.

Dalot, 21, is on loan at AC Milan and has made four appearances for the club, impressing with a goal and assist in the 3-0 Europa League win over Sparta Prague.

The Portugal youth international has starred at right-back and left-back for the Italian giants, who see his versatility as a major asset.

But Dalot remains in Solskjaer's long-term vision for United and club chiefs have already told Milan he will return to Old Trafford next summer.

That's according to ESPN , who add Dalot is "highly regarded" by the United boss and there is potential for him to develop into a first-team star in the future.

The news will come as a blow to Milan manager Stefano Pioli, as recent reports in Italy claimed he would like to bring Dalot to San Siro on a permanent basis.

Dalot joined United for £19million in 2018 and remains contracted at Old Trafford until 2023, while his loan at Milan has no option to buy included.

The Porto academy product has settled quickly with the Serie A club and he was full of praise for Pioli after making his debut last month.

"Pioli keeps us all hungry," he told Sky Sport Italia . "We are motivated to play. He gives everyone the opportunity to demonstrate what we can do, and this is fantastic."

Dalot has made 35 appearances for United but only one of those came this season, when he kept a clean sheet in the 3-0 win at Brighton in the Carabao Cup last 16.

He was on the bench for the 6-0 win at Luton in the previous round but failed to make the squad for any Premier League match.
