Diogo Dalot identified, Thomas Lemar link, Ainsley Maitland-Niles and other Everton transfer rumours rated

Carlo Ancelotti is experiencing his first summer transfer window in charge at Everton, as he looks to prepare for his first full season in charge at Goodison Park.

The experienced Italian manager guided the Blues to a 12th-placed finish in the Premier League, but the team showed signs of taking to their new boss.

Everton have been linked to a host of new players, and here, we assess each rumour and rate them for you.

Who?

Diogo Dalot, Manchester United defender.

Where?

According to the Daily Mirror, Everton are targeting Dalot as they look to bolster their defensive options before next season.

The Portuguese full-back has been identified as a possible long-term replacement for Seamus Coleman, according to the report.

Dalot found appearances hard to come by last season, and with Aaron Wan-Bissaka being United’s clear first-choice right-back, the 21-year-old faces a tough battle to find a way back into the side.

What?

Coleman is now 31-years-old and sees his contract expire in 2022 at Goodison Park, and it is still unclear whether he’ll remain a Blue once the deal ends.

Dalot is a player United may be keen to remove from their wage bill after failing to cement a place at Old Trafford.

If the rumours are to be believed, this could be a smart bit of business from the Everton hierarchy, to sign a young defender with bags of potential.

Who?

Thomas Lemar, 2018 World Cup winner

Where?

Le 10 Sport, via Sport Witness, are reporting that Everton are very interested in a move for Atletico Madrid winger Lemar.

However, the deal could face complications due to the Spanish club’s demands for the France World Cup winner.

The French news outlet are saying that the deal could be “complicated” because Atletico are being “greedy” over Lemar, who they signed for €70m back in 2018.

What?

Lemar is a big name and he’s the sort of player that Everton fans would like to see targeted as the club looks to improve their squad.

Despite that, this deal looks like a bit of a no-go, and if the rumours are to be believed, then Atletico’s “greedy” stance won’t impress the Blues.

File under highly unlikely.

Who?

Ainsley Maitland-Niles, Arsenal midfielder.

Where?

The Daily Mirror are reporting that the Gunners have made the 22-year-old available for transfer this summer, and Everton are interested in a move.

The report states that the Blues, along with Tottenham Hotspur and Brighton & Hove Albion, are keen on a move for the Arsenal midfielder.

Maitland-Niles, whose preferred position is in midfield, has often handed the Gunners a competent right-back option.

However, the report states that Maitland-Niles is not desperate for a move away from the Emirates Stadium.

What?

He’s a very impressive and versatile youngster, who, if available for the right price, would be an excellent addition to the Everton squad.

However, it seems he wants to stay put at the Gunners, but if they are desperate to offload him, that could quickly change their mind.

Perhaps one to keep an eye on, but nothing concrete just yet.
