Dinosaurs are coming to a Swansea shopping centre this August

Dinosaurs will be trampling through Swansea's Quadrant Centre during a family fun day next month. People of all ages will be able to get up and close and personal with a T-Rex, raptor and a therizinosaurus as Dinomania visits the centre on August 1 from 12pm to 3pm.

At set times throughout the day, people will be able to meet the dinosaurs and find out about how they once lived. On Facebook, staff at the Quadrant Shopping Centre explained: "Experience a T-rex, triceratops, and velociraptors at the Quadrant. Give the little ones something to brag about when they return to school in September with the ultimate, free dinosaur experience. Monday, August 1 [at] Centre of the Quadrant.

"They can get up close and personal with dinosaurs, under the careful guidance of the brave Dino Rangers. Be careful though, these dinosaurs can get a bit excited and may want to reach out and play with you. Enter this event at your own risk… you’ve been warned."

Dinomania was founded by Welshman Chris Roberts in 2015 "with the dream of making children’s dreams come true". The business is based in Swansea but regularly travels across the UK to perform in schools and at community events and run "realistic" dinosaur workshops. The company has even appeared on Britain's Got Talent.

Chris, 41, is probably the only person that's ever brought a Spinosaurus, a T-Rex and two Raptors on to the Britain's Got Talent Stage. The group danced to Psy's Gangnam Style and the Cha Cha Slide and impressed Simon Cowell. "I think the idea of a dance group with dinosaurs is brilliant," he said. For more Swansea stories, go here

Among the places it will be visiting, Dinomania will travel to Merthyr, Leicester, Northampton, York and Belfast this summer, as well as Cardiff, Mold, Brecon and Llandrindod in 2023. Tickets are available on the Dinomania website here.
