Dining out in Ireland: Hospitality businesses and customers encouraged to take measures to stay safe this Christmas

Fáilte Ireland has launched their 'Dine out Safely' campaign which is encouraging hospitality businesses and their customers to take all the necessary measures to stay safe while dining out this Christmas.

The hospitality industry wants to give a customers an enjoyable experience this festive season.

They have brought in safety measures such as limited capacity, enhanced cleaning,  mask wearing contact tracing and social distancing to give people a safer place to go.

I went to the Woolen Mills in Dublin City Centre and found that all the guidelines were followed, with a sense of reassurance from the outset thanks to the helpful staff.

Anthony Hennessy of the Woolen Mills said: " We're delighted to be back, working hard and keeping everyone safe. "

They wanted to raise awareness of the key measures that been taken to make things safe this Christmas.

Customers are play their part in keeping everyone safe by:

1.Sanitising hands on entry & exit

2.Providing details for contract tracing

3. Wearing a face mask indoors and when moving around the building

Fáilte Ireland launched the Covid-19 Safety Charter during the summer, a safety symbol for tourism & hospitality businesses.

When a business displays this symbol, you will know they are agreeing to follow the recommended cleaning & safety guidelines, supported by staff training and that they agree to undergo spot checks.

Restaurants, gastro-pubs, cafés  and hotels throughout the nation are taking these measures after what has been a very challenging year for the hospitality sector.
