Diners and staff ran to help teen who died after collapsing in Browns in Liverpool ONE

Staff and members of the public tried to desperately help a teenage boy who died after collapsing at a Liverpool ONE restaurant.

The 15-year-old was at Browns restaurant, in Liverpool ONE, with family and friends when he collapsed at around 5.50pm on Saturday, October 22. Emergency services, including police and paramedics, attended the scene on Paradise Street and set up a cordon.

Before North West Ambulance services arrived, it was reported that members of the public and staff tended to the teenager and provided medical treatment. He was then rushed to hospital but died a short time later.

Merseyside Police confirmed his death is not believed to be suspicious and his next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers. Hundreds of people took to social media to share tributes to the boy and their condolences to his family.

On Faceook, Linda Hill said: "His poor parents my heart went out to them. My two grandchildren lit a candle in church for him this morning. I have to say I've been thinking of them all last night. May he rest in peace prayers thoughts to his family friends." Lisa Dunne commented: "I witnessed this yesterday with my husband and children and couldn’t stop thinking of this boy and his poor family who was with him. So Heart-breaking thinking of all his family at this sad time."

Clare Cook added: "Sending deepest condolences to this lovely boy's family and friends. Rest in peace. We understand your pain. Lots of love." While Thomas Moran said: "My thoughts go out to the young lad and his family, also anyone who was unfortunate to witness this terrible incident. Bless you all."

Louisa Donnelly said: "Absolutely awful news. Thinking of such a beautiful family at such a heart breaking time. All of our love is sent your way and you are in my thoughts constantly." And Moira Berry King commented: "Condolences to the poor boy's family and friends, what an awful thing to happen. Rest peacefully in the arms of the angels young man."
