Dinamo Zagreb's ex-Arsenal youngster taunts Tottenham after embarrassing Europa League loss

Dinamo Zagreb's former Arsenal youngster Robbie Burton couldn't resist the chance to mock Tottenham as his side embarrassingly knocked them out of the Europa League.

Spurs held a 2-0 advantage from the first leg against Burton's Zagreb, but were humiliated 3-0 in Croatia and crashed out at the last-16 stage of the competition.

Welshman Burton, 21, who came through the academy with the Gunners before making the move to Zagreb last year, was an unused substitute for both games.

But he certainly seemed to enjoy himself in the post-match celebrations, and shared a picture of the joyous scenes on Twitter.

And he aimed a dig at Spurs with the caption: "London is red. Croatia in blue."

The defeat continued a miserable few days for Spurs after they lost to their North London rivals on Sunday.

And questioned are now being asked over Jose Mourinho's future after what has been a hugely disappointing season.

Speaking after the game the Portuguese manager apologised to supporters and said his side's attitude was not good enough.

"For the respect I have for my career and my job, every match is important," Mourinho said.

"For every Tottenham fan at home, every match matters. Another attitude is needed. What I feel is much more than sadness.

"I just left the Dinamo dressing room where I went to praise the guys and I feel sorry it is not my team who won the game based on attitude and compromise. I feel more than sad.

"Football is not just about players who think they have more quality than others. The basis of football is attitude. They beat us on that."

Spurs are next in action on Sunday when they take on Aston Villa in the Premier League, and anything but a win will see the knives sharpen even more as Mourinho faces a crucial few weeks.
