Dinamo Zagreb boss Zoran Mamic delivers his verdict on Jose Mourinho, Gareth Bale and Tottenham

Dinamo Zagreb boss Zoran Mamic will have his fingers crossed that Gareth Bale isn't in the Tottenham XI for this evening's Europa League Round of 16 clash.

Struggling to recapture his best form in the opening few months of the season due to injury and fitness issues, the 31-year-old has really turned it on over the past few weeks after netting six goals in his last six games.

Likely to make a number of changes to his team anyway ahead of Sunday's north London derby, Jose Mourinho may well drop his in-form Spurs player down to the bench in preparation for the showdown against Arsenal.

Mamic will be hoping that is indeed the case, stating that Bale is "almost unstoppable" when in his current form.

Tottenham's open training session ahead of Dinamo Zagreb

“We were just speaking and joking the other day how Bale obviously waits when he will play against my coaching staff and me and then decides to play his best football,” he told The National.

“What can you say about a player of his quality? When he is in good shape like he is at the moment he is almost unstoppable, and we will have to try to find a way to manage him.

"Actually, if you have any idea or advice, please let me know.”

The game also gives the Croat the chance to pit his wits against Mourinho.

Given the Portuguese head coach's success throughout his career since starting out at Benfica back in 2000, Mamic has said it will be "interesting" to come up against the 58-year-old.

“Like I said, it is great to test yourself against the best, and Jose Mourinho is definitely one of the best coaches in the world in the last decade or more,” he added.

“He won so many trophies with several clubs and he earned his respect from everyone, including me.

"His teams always play tactically near to perfect, with a lot of energy and great pace, so it’s nice to watch them.

“He plays similar football now in Tottenham, and especially they look good in the last few weeks with a lot of power.

"It will be interesting to play against him, and it would be especially interesting to beat him.”
