Former Tottenham star Dimitar Berbatov has sent a piece of advice to Jose Mourinho on how to deal with his younger players.
Mourinho is well known to be a bit of a hard taskmaster but Berbatov insists he must also show his softer side.
Tottenham started well under Mourinho after he took over from Mauricio Pochettino last November but a Champions League loss at home to RB Leipzig and a defeat at Chelsea in the Premier League have halted the good vibes.
Now Berbatov explains that Mourinho must show better man-management to reignite Spurs.
"Mourinho should speak to his players, especially the youngsters, and reassure them that he believes they're good enough. After that, it's up to the players to go out and perform," Berbatov told Betfair.
But Berbatov has defended Mourinho for bringing a pragmatic approach to the club.
There have been worries that the Portuguese manager is making the club too defensive but Berbatov is adamant that it's the right idea for now.
Berbatov added: "Some Spurs fans think their team has become defensive under Mourinho. As a striker, I want to watch attacking football but a manager's first priority is for his team to not lose a match.
"If Mourinho can tighten up Spurs defensively then he will use that as the platform to build a team that is exciting to watch as well as hard to beat. But it takes time."
